Brian's Worldwide Travels

One of my favorite "hobbies" is traveling.  I really enjoy planning the trips, which allows me to learn about the location, its history, culture and people.  Though I only take a couple of long trips a year, I spent a great majority of my free time planning these trips.  Friends and co-workers make fun of me because of this intense focus and detail, but these same people would love to have my travel guides.

If my current profession doesn't work out, I'd love to become a travel guide.  Not someone who works the mass market, rather I'd want to focus on groups of ten people or less.  If you know of any opportunities like this, please email me with the information.

I have included several sources of information here, including links to summaries of my own trips.  If you're interested in additional information, please email me.

1. Trips in the planning stages - I usually start planning my trips about three months in advance.  This includes a great deal of internet research, plus reading travel guides.  I also try to research the history and culture of the countries that I'm visiting.  This page provides a list of the trips that are currently on my docket.

2. Travel Resources - On this page I provide links to some of my favorite Internet travel resources.

3. Trips Database - On these pages, I summarize my trips with text and pictures.

4. Lost Guides - I lost my computer hard drive in September, 2002.  With it, I lost several guides for trips taken over a two-year period.  This page provides a list of the places that I visited in that time period.

5. Windows to the World - One of the things I do in each hotel that I stay is take a picture from the room's window.  I have provided these pictures at this link.

6. Travel Feedback - I provide a form for those of you that would like to share your travel experiences with me.
